Town Hall Meeting Huge Success! Between 300-400 people from all sides of the political spectrum turned out for the meeting. Panelists included:
[ 4/1/2003 ] Latest draft petition: Petition to Austin City Council [PDF] [ 3/26/03 ]We have just confirmed that the city of Austin has spent $16 million on homeland security measures since 9/11. While promises were made to reimburse such expenditures, we are now finding out that the federal government is backing out of this. This means that Austin taxpayers will have to foot the bill. We will post more on this as we get details. We're just getting started so there isn't a lot to report yet. Our town hall meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, April 1st. As rhetoric and talk of terrorist attacks continue, civil liberties will continue to be at risk.
